The Greater Atlanta Practitioners (GAP) vision is about
empowering ourselves to be of service to others. From our spring conference came many wonderful thoughts and ideas
as we empowered ourselves and each other to Be. We really connected to the Greatness of the Universe, bringing forth
a manifesto for all to enjoy. So it is on the GAP strength and
foundation we move into the community this time to be of
service and further empower our youth as they prepare to
return back to school.
GAP’s Back 2 School Community Service Project will collect and distribute school supplies of all kinds to children returning to school. All collected school supplies will be
delivered to the West End Mall for distribution during the Back to School Jamboree and Talent Show on July 27.
The Back to School Jamboree and Talent Show is being held in conjunction with Atlanta City Council Lady Cleta Winslow and Empire Board of Realtists. Other community partners that have joined include: The West End Medical Center (providing health care to the youth), Atlanta Cares Mentoring, Janis Ware of the Atlanta Voice newspaper, and Strengthen Families and Community Coalition (SFCC).
This is a community service project that would serve GAP as a way to touch basis within the community
and also meet a need where school supplies are needed. The service
mission is to have a meaningful
presence in the community as it relates to children, families and communities. As we work together for greater collaboration and impact, excellence in education is a value we all can support. |
